The RM-10 Treatment Process
The treatment process begins when the reaction tanks are filled with wastewater When the tank is full, the mixing turbine is started, and RM-10 is added
As the chemistry enters the agitating wastewater, a large flock can be seen forming The mixing process continues for 3:00 to 5:00 minutes
When the reaction is finished, the mixer is stopped, and the sludge is allowed to settle to the bottom of the tank After the solids have settled, the clean water valve is opened Treated water passes through the filter media on the conveyor and into the clean water tank The filtered water can then be discharged directly into the sewer system or reused in other applications
The sludge falls onto the filter media, where it dewater by gravity to approximately 25% solids The solids and filter media then pass under rollers that squeeze out any excess water Both the solids and the filter media fall into the sludge hopper and are disposed of
Cetco RM-10
Wastewater treatment with RM-10 takes only minutes. Several complex chemical reactions occur as RM-10 enters the waste stream and is mixed by a mixing turbine. As RM-10 enters the waste stream, acidic components are released, which break oil emulsions and force contaminants out. Next, the polymer portion of the formulation attracts any remaining oils and larger, more concentrated, charged anions. As the reaction continues, a base component is released to precipitate and attract metals to the clay. The clay particles agglomerate, trapping and surrounding the suspended solids completely. At this point, the contaminants are surrounded by a barrier of clay particles and are unavailable to external leaching fluids. The entire treatment process is completed in a matter of minutes. The resultant sludge is now ready for the dewatering process and landfill disposal. The treated water is suitable for discharge into the sewer system or can be reused for other applications. RM-10 has been proven effective and is in use throughout the world in almost every waste stream imaginable.
